Salary: Base Salary: £150,000

             OTE: £200,000

             Commission Plan: 75/25 split

Position Overview

The Solution Architect is the technical owner of the engagement in respect to; prospecting/lead generation, presentation, demonstration, requirements gathering and gap analysis, solution design, definition/deployment/execution of any Pilot activities, and winning the deal. They will partner with the Account Executives, the Customer Solutions team, and the Project Manager to deliver the Pilot and Production customer solution.

This position will also engage Customer Support, Professional Services, Product Management and Engineering teams throughout the sales engagement process. The Solution Architect will be the tip of the spear to continue to drive new features, and document and provide requirements to Product Management and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical strategy for architecting solutions for Ocient  customers

  • Work closely with the Account executive to drive pipeline, win deals and achieve revenue goals

  • Create and maintain questionnaires, run customer workshops, and gather customer use case requirements, (including ETL, database, querying, visualizations, and integrations)

  • Work with the Sales Integration, Data Engineering and/or Delivery teams, to iterate on workload testing and schema design to produce the best performance, document feature gaps, prioritize resolution of feature gaps, and communicate statuses internally and externally to customers

  • Working with Delivery Team to develop, deploy, and test the end-to-end workload processes including streaming/file ingest, transformation, loading, querying, extraction, etc.

  • Handle customer inquiries of the data, performance requirements, concurrency goals, time to query-ability, deployment modalities (service/on-prem/public cloud), capture sample data sets, build a representative data/query generator where appropriate, etc.

  • Build and maintain customer specification documents which are typically iterative in nature such as the completeness of the documentation of customer requirements, goals, and next-generation innovation aspirations.

  • Work with Account Executives to create supporting collateral to develop new verticals and present Ocient’s capabilities, including demonstrations to customers and partners

  • Help the Account Executive to size systems appropriately for Pilot and Production contracts that meet customer requirements and expectations

  • Work with the Customer New Workload Optimization team to supercharge the workload and build best practices

  • Work with Customer Operations and Customer Professional Services Teams to provide enablement and hands-on training to customers

  • Work with Operations and Delivery Teams to ensure Pilot Hardware and requisite Software are properly set up and deployed for Pilot testing

  • Assist with the training and onboarding of the Solutions Engineering and Solution Architect team members.

  • Be on the forefront of testing new features and providing feedback

Qualifications:

  • Must be a team player and self-starter with strong technical leadership, business acumen and interpersonal skills

  • 5 - 10+ years of solutions experience and proven track record of designing and delivering solutions in the telco and data warehousing space

  • Deep knowledge and experience with both Cloud and On-Prem deployment modalities

  • Deep knowledge and hands on experience with OLAP, Real-Time Analytics, and data warehousing in the Cloud and legacy systems

  • Deep knowledge and experience with ETL / ELT and SQL

  • Data engineering background is a plus

  • Must be willing to travel

  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking ability

  • Ability to collaborate with customers, investors, technical subject matter experts, executive leadership, and creative partners to seamlessly integrate and draw from diverse skill sets

  • Strong writing and presentation skills, including writing treatments, story/talking points, and narratives to guide content development
